Hiding as usual

Eri sat in her secret garden, where only her late mother and her twin sister knew of. Her older sister Haley knew, but often forgot where it was. Eri sighed and hoped Lizzy wouldn't think to come and look for here.

Haley was walking about the grounds when she stumbled upon a garden, she scratched her head and smiled, "Now how can I forget where this is! It's close to the castle!" she laughed and laid on the grass and opened her book.

Eri saw her older sister Haley, "Hey Hals, you found my garden again." Eri said laughing. "I'm hiding from father again, he was yelling at Winnie and I stood up for her." She showed her the red mark on her cheek. "I don't feel like going to a lesson right now until it's gone."

Haley stood up and felt her little sisters cheek, she could feel the anger rising, "I think it's about time I stood up to him."

Eri shook her head. "I'm fine Hals, really. Please calm down. I don't think we need two to get hit anymore. We already have the younger three and me. Besides, I plan on getting out of here as soon as I can."

"I can't leave until the others are gone, I hate how he treats us."

"I know, he needs to realize that he can't be so harsh. It's not the young one's fault that mother is gone." Eri said and sat down beside her sister. "Have you ever wanted to go to Madella, just to see how different it is there. I've heard that their king is kind hearted because of his wife. Do you think that's why father hates him so much?"

"always," she smiled sadly, "I think he lost his heart the day mother died."

Eri coudln't hide it from her older sister anymore. "I've been going there. I...I met someone there. I'm scared that if father finds out that he'll have him killed just like he did with Andrew, the kitchen boy who taught me how to fight you remember him?"

Haley laughed, "Looks like I'm not the only one." but then she stopped, "Yes I remember."

"I felt bad after that. I ran away to Madella and met Will. He's so sweet and caring." Eri said with a small blush. "But I told him I had to stop seeing him, dad almost caught me the one night sneaking out."

Haley smiled, "well, I'll cover for you if you ever want to see him again."

Erica's face brightened immensly. "Really!? Thank you Haley, thank you so much." Eri got up and did danced around a little out of happiness. She blushed after and sat down and gave a nervous laugh.

Haley laughed, "What are sisters for? and I will only do it if you promise not to do that dance again." She laughed harder.

Eri stuck her tongue out and laughed. "Fine."

Haley smiled and laid her book down in her lap. She enjoyed the site, "it's pretty here isn't it?"

Eri nodded. "I worked hard on it, I need to replant the rose bush in front of the door so it will be harder for people to find."

"I think It's already hard to find." She laughed, "Considering I never know where it is, it seems as if it moves every time."

Eri smiled with pride. She worked hard on making sure her garden was always fairly hard to find. She even knows a way outside of the castle grounds, all she needs to do it get into her garden and she can walk to the village from there.

Haley looked down, "I can see the wheels in your head every time you think!"

"I just remembered the hole in the wall. I can sneak out through there. I would just need you to cover up for me."

"Just tell me where it is!"

"Okay, follow me." Eri led her sister through the gardens until she got to the huge wall surrounding the castle grounds. She lifted up a bunch of vines and showed Haley the hole in the wall.

"How did that get there?"

"When Madella attacked us right after mum died." Eri said to her.
